Some things from the old days are just too good to forget. The way Ouma made use of what she had, the value she placed on simple things, and the little things that made a house feel like home — that's the kind of goodness that inspired VetSpens.

We are a husband-and-wife team with a love for the simple things in life, natural ingredients and the old-fashioned way of doing things. What began with a passion for 100% pure beef tallow has grown into our own little homegrown business, where we create products with care, purpose and a whole lot of love.

The name VetSpens holds a special meaning for us. Inspired by Ouma se Spens — that familiar place where useful things were kept, nothing was wasted, and what nature provided was valued — we wanted to bring a little of that old-fashioned goodness back into modern homes.

Where It All Began

Long before we had our own brand, there was something special about the way things were done in the past. Our grandparents understood the value of using what they had, making things last and keeping life simple.

Beef tallow, once a familiar household staple, became the starting point of our journey. We were inspired by the traditional uses of this natural ingredient, from cooking to everyday skincare, and wanted to explore how these old ways could still have a place in our lives today.

From that first idea, VetSpens began to take shape. Little by little, we started creating products that reflect what we believe in: simplicity, thoughtful ingredients and the value of handmade goods.
